Richard Storey brings a rare combination of deep legal knowledge and real-world finance experience to Bartlett Storey Law. He is the founder of Storey & Company Law Corporation.
Richard's career began in real estate syndications and securities. In 1994, he moved into financial derivatives trading with Refco Group and Man Financial, where he spent 12 years trading derivatives and managing risk for large Canadian and U.S. corporations. During that time, he also taught risk management to accountants.
After his career in finance, Richard turned to law. He earned his law degree and MA (Cantab) from Cambridge University in England, and holds a joint MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Wharton School, and Chulalongkorn University (Sasin). He was called to the bar. He has served as Crown Counsel and now maintains a practice spanning criminal law, litigation involving finance, family law, real estate, and estates. His background in complex finance and securities gives him a distinctive edge in litigation where financial matters are at the centre of the dispute.
